My Diary (13)

Maya didn't know what to do...she didn't know where he was exactly!!
'omg it's all my fault..' she told herself as tears started streaming down her eyes..
'omg omg omg.. i want him, i want him, plz god don't let anything happen to him..plz god.. i swear if he's fine i'll pray an extra rak3itain with every prayer for the rest of my life' Maya was crying hysterically now..

Lulwa was just about to go to bed when...
Incoming call: Maya
"Aloo hiii" Lulwa said cheerfully, she had good news to tell Maya about herself, she hoped Maya would call, she wanted to tell her the piece of news herself
"Luuuhoooluuu" Maya sobbed uncontrollably
"MAYA SHFEECH?" Lulwa's heart dropped til her feet...
"5ALED HAD AN ACCIDENT..MA3ARF WAIN WADOOH..HE WAS TALKING TO ME AND I HEARD HIM CRASH...ABEE AROO7 LAH ILMUSTASHFAA LULU..BASS MA3ARF WHICH HOSPITAL" Maya said between her sobs, she couldn't control herself from screaming on the phone. (U know the feeling u get, when u know if u talk it'll come out as a cry but u force urself to talk and then it comes out as a scream and u cry without stopping?..yeah that.)
"Maya maya smila 3laich.. 9aly 3l niby, i'm coming over right now! i promise we'll find him..Bahrain is small it's easy to find someone i promise.. yalla i'm coming" Lulwa tried to comfort Maya while she panicked...
"HOW R WE GONNA FIND HIM? i want him i want him 5la9 i'll be with him.." Maya whispered her last words..
"i'm gonna find him, trust me, now get dressed we'll go to the hospital" Lulwa ordered
'how r we gona do that' Lulwa thought to herself as she dressed quickly..

Maya did as she was told, she pulled out a pair of jeans and a lose t-shirt without even looking..
She was still crying..her eyes were full of tears that blurred her sight.
'i want him..what am i going to do without him' Maya cried harder

Within 10 minutes, Lulwa reached Maya's house.. Maya quickly got into the car, and fastened her seatbelt..
"did u find him??" Maya cried, looking worriedly at Lulwa
"yes i did babe, he's at the BDF hospital, we're going over there" Lulwa smiled softly at Maya.. "apparently he was in Riffa when the accident happened.."
"is he okay??" Maya asked terrified
"i duno sweety..they couldn't give me that information, they told me i had to be a memeber of the family in order for them to tell me anything about him.." Lulwa said apologetically
"inshalla mafee shayy" Maya sobbed harder...

They parked their car, got down, and headed to the main enterance..
They asked for directions, until they found their way...to the emergency section.
Doctors were walking around, people with severe injuries were just brought in, mothers crying..
It was a busy place, they didn't know who to ask about 5aled..
They saw a nurse, went over to her and asked her..
"excuse me, do you know where 5aled al- is, they said he's here" Lulwa asked the nurse
"are u a member of the family?" asked the nurse..
"yes, she's his fiance" Lulwa said pointing at Maya, "and i'm his cousin, his parents are out of town for the day" Lulwa said, trying to act normal
"yes, actually i'm his nurse, he's still in the operating room, he'll be out most probably in an hour.." said the nurse, sympathetically
Maya felt as if she was going to fall to the ground, she felt her knees trembling, and her heart beating so fast she couldn't even feel it beating..
"it's okay.. Lulwa touched Maya's arm, "come lets sit and wait"

Maya kept sobbing non-stop....
It was then and there Maya decided that she'll give him a chance, she wanted him, she couldn't act as if she didn't care about him anymore.. 'Life's too short' she thought.. 'what if something happens to him, i swear i wont forgive myself'
'what have i done?' Maya kept thinking 'why didn't i give him a chance..i love him.. i want him.. plz god i can't handle it if anything happens to him' Maya started sobbing again..
It was times like these, when u think u'll lose someone that u want them the most..

Maya kept sobbing...

1 and a half hour later
It seemed to Maya like 10 hours passed
The doctor came over to Maya and Lulwa with a nervous smile..
"e7m.." the doctor cleared his throat "
"dr. is everything ok??" Lulwa asked, as Maya kept crying quietly
"there's some good news, and some bad news.." the dr. started
Maya's heart stopped and she sobbed loudly
"what is it dr?" Lulwa asked worried about what he was going to say
"he's out of the operation, he will recover soon.." the dr. began, "but we don't know how long it will take him to recover.."

Maya felt horrible that night, she couldn't sleep.
She sat there lying in her bed, her heart torn apart...
She pittied Tahani, but still admired 5aled...how could she fix this?

Early that morning, Maya's phone rang, she was still in bed while she picked it up..
"Aloo" she said in a sleepy voice
"Maya" he said
her heart stopped..
it was him...
it was his deep voice...
"um n3am?" Maya said, sitting up straight on her bed, feeling nervous
"abee akalmij..fe shy abee agoolaj eyaah" 5aled said nervously
"uuh 5air? tfa'9al" Maya was being as professional as possible
"Maya......" 5aled began, as her heart started flipping, "ana enfe9alt 3an Tahani"
"laish?" asked Maya innocently
"l2ny abeech inty"
Maya didn't know what to say...she kept quiet.. so he continued..
"il9araa7a, inty mo il sebab il wa7eed..wayed ashyaa2..bass plz..momkin abtidy akalmij?" 5aled's intentions were not to play around, he really wanted to settle down....but with the right woman.
"um madry 5aled, ya3ny Tahani's my friend.. i couldn't do that to her..." Maya was considerate
"u won't do anything to her...there's nothing wrong with it.. i ended things with her...mafeeha shay.. ya3ny i can't be with someone else?...someone i like?...someone i fell in love with from the first time i saw her?"
Maya stopped breathing, she wanted to hear his every word, she wanted to make sure she wasn't dreaming...
she sat there smiling....feeling something she never felt before... everytime he first spoke she felt a jolt in her heart...it was a nice feeling...
it's called love...
Maya took a deep breath, while she thought about it.. 'it's true, he did end things with her' she thought...'why not give him a chance? i really want to.. i really like him...'
"no 5aled, im sorry" Maya said regretfully..
"plz think about it Maya, u're not doing anything wrong....plzz..for me" he begged
he wanted her so badly...he just knew she was the right one for him...
he knew she'd agree eventually...
Tears beggan dropping on her face, while she hung up...
she wanted him, she wanted to be with him, she dreamed about him......but she couldn't do that to Tahani...

2 weeks passed by with no message, no phone call from 5aled..
'i wonder if he's just giving me space, or doesn't want me anymore' Maya thought to herself...
she was in touch with Tahani, for the last two weeks...
Tahani was always crying, felt down, stayed at home, watched tv, and slept...she didn't do much.. always just called Maya for comfort, they talked in the phone, Maya trying to make her feel better...although nothing could.

As Maya stepped out of the shower, that night, her phone rang...she went to pick it up.
"Maya" 5aled said in a sad voice..
"5aled" Maya said his name shyly
"fakarty fil maw'9oo3?" he asked curiously.."abeej walla abeej"
"5aled walla may9eer..Tahani refeejty..magdar" Maya stook to her decision..she was convinced it was the right thing to do..
"ana yayaj ilbait" he said in a bubbly voice
"laa2! 5aled laa2! shino baitna? may9eer omy oo oboy fil bait..."Maya got nervouse
"imbalaanabayiybaitkomba56ibijminobooch" he mumbled, he said it all in one word
"where r u?" Maya asked

she heard him sip something
"are u drinking?" Maya became worried, she disapproved of drinking
"ya...u know why?...cuz i'm in love..and the one i love..." he went quiet..
Maya heard a loud crash...
"................"silence
Maya's heart froze!
"5ALED??" Maya yelled into the phone "5ALED?? 5AAALED? DO U HEAR ME??" Maya almost screamed..
"................"

Silence...

A few seconds later, Maya heard the siren of an ambulance.

My Diary (11)

Tahani was so excited to see 5aled, she couldn't believe he called and asked to see her. He stopped doing that in a long time. 'Things are going to get better' she thought as she got dressed. She chose her Bebe silk flower top, with a black tight skinny jeans, Sergio Rossi high heel sandals, put on eyeliner, eyeshadow (she made extra effort with her makeup this evening) glittery lipgloss, pink blush (that suits her skin tone well), she wore a necklace that 5aled gave her as an engagement present as soon as they got engaged, (other than her ring of course), diamond stud earings, and her Van Cleef and Arples watch. She took her Hermes bag from the side of her dressing table, put on her favorite perfume (Miracle, Lancome) and left the house.
'I'm going to give him a chance, akeed ohwa 7ass fe nafsa ina he was too harsh with me the last couple of weeks, akeed mit2asif' she smiled to herself as she turned on the radio.
'i'll start with him a new start, i'll be a new person...' she kept thinking, 'i'll make him happy'....

5aled reached Zoe's, and saw Tahani's car parked outside, it was 8:10pm which means he was 10 minutes late (as usual). His heart started to beat faster, he took a deep breath and entered the restaurant. 'I have to do this' he told himself.

10 minutes later, they ordered their meal and drinks (without starters), and stared at each other.
"Tahani" 5aled began
"na3am 7abeeby" Tahani smiled
'this was a first' he thought 'what's gotten into her, she never called me 7abeeby'
"fe maw'9oo3 abee akalmich feeh...'this is harder than i thought' he thought to himself
"aamer, gool 5aloody, sh3indak" Tahani looke deep into his eyes
"e7m" 5aled cleared his throat, playing for time..he wished there was another way he could do this, but there wasn't.

Tahani looked at him, smiling softly
5aled kept looking down, he couldn't look her in the eye, at least for now

Tahani looked confused...she didn't know what was coming next, she didn't know what to expect, whether it was something good, or bad...
"ana min il bidaaya il9araa7a ma kint mertaa7, mo minich inty, bass madry..fe shay baina naage9" 5aled sighed..."mat7eseen?" he said it in a way that told her this was the end, there's no turning back..
Tahani was shocked, she went cold......
She wished she was in a bad dream and would wake up in any minute. But she wasn't.
Her mouth went dry, her eyes started to water, and still she couldn't say anything...
Now she knew where this was going...
She wanted him to stop before things got worse, before he broke her heart, but it was too late, her heart already cracked...
She sat there, waiting for the worst to come...
"ana agool mane9la7 7ag ba3a'9 Tahani..face it, we're not in love" 5aled knew he was being too harsh on her, but this was hard on him as well..
Tahani felt his last words hit her like a bomb..
She didn't want to cry in front of all the people at Zoe's, she didn't want to make a scene, but she felt like she was going to explode, she wanted to curl up in her bed, cry her eyes out and go to sleep..so she got up, fighting back her tears, looked at him one last look that broke his heart as well, and walked out of there without even finishing her food.
5aled didn't want things to end with her that way, but he felt that he had to...he wanted to live his life the right way, to the fullest extent... and he knew Tahani would thank him one day, because she deserved better..and so did he.
He wanted to be happy, he wanted to be by her side, he wanted to be with her, and that's how he was going to be happy. This was what his life should've been like a long time ago. With Maya in it. He was with the wrong person for a long time, as far as he can remember, and that was going to change.
5aled forced himself to finish his food, since he was in a restaurant. He knew what he did was right, maybe the wrong way, but right. For both of them, one day Tahani would understand.
He sat there, drinking his coffee after his meal, (he needed caffiene, he had a strong headache)thinking about how to get her. 'Now that Tahani wasn't in the picture, surely she'd agree to be with me..right?'

Tahani ran up to her room, tears streaming down her face, kicked off her heels, threw her handbag on the floor, changed furiously almost ruining her silk top, wore hey pj's and jumped into bed, covering her face with her blanket and crying and crying and crying.
She cried for hours, just thinking about him and what he said, and that she's no longer his fiance anymore...that he hurt her when she was willing to change herself and put up a lot of his unpleasant behaviour just to make him happy...
she replayed the conversation they had over and over again in her mind, and each time she remembered his last words "face it we're not in love" she cried even harder....
3 and a half hours of non stop crying, she picked up her fone and dialled her number.
She needed to talk to her, she needed to tell her what happened....most of all, she needed her friend.

Incoming call: Tahani
"aloo" Maya said in a lazy voice, she was in bed, she wanted to sleep early that night since she was going to have breakfast at her aunty's house
"alo..ooo...oo..hoo.."Tahani sobbed
"omg Tahani wha'ts wrong?" Maya sat straight up in her bed, opening the lamp beside her
"hee...he...b...b...brokeupwithmeeee" Tahani kept sobbing, her words were blurred by her crying but Maya managed to understand what she was saying
"omg Tahani babe i'm so sorry...do u need me to come over?" Maya felt torn between being sad for her friend, and happy for herself. (She knew what this meant...)
"Tahani plz lat9ee7een....i'll come over tomorrow, you can tell me what happend" Maya tried comforting her friend...
Tahani kept sobbing....

Maya couldn't help it, she cried silently as she listened to her friend talk about her life falling apart and her future breaking into tiny pieces...

My Diary (10)

Lulwa felt bad that night, did she have the right to go talk to 5aled behind Maya's back?
But she couldn't let her friend do the biggest mistake in her life...someone had to stand up, and so she did!
'if Maya finds out, she woud be mad at me in the beginning but she'll know later on that i meant no harm' Lulwa thought to herself.. so she decided not to tell Maya anything about the conversation she had with 5aled..
She did what she thought was right, and the rest is to them...

5aled wore his thob and red '3itra, took his car keys then left the house. He had to do this, he just had to..Maya happening to him was a wake up call, it made him realize that life's too short to live a lie, plus Tahani didn't deserve that..she deserved to be truly happy with someone who loved her, and so did he..
The feeling he had, when he saw Maya at Tahani's party, was too powerful to control...it was stronger than the force of nature..
He never felt that way around Tahani...he didn't know why, she was beautiful, sweet, kind to him, but there was something about her that was missing. She could never make him feel what he felt towards Maya. He knew Maya felt the same way about him from the look on her face whenever she sees him, and not starting a relationship with him because of Tahani, made Maya an angel to him..He fell deeper knowing that she wouldn't hurt anyone, and that she would sacrifice her own happiness for her friend's sake...
He wanted Tahani out of his life, he did so a long time ago, but he put up with her because he thought this was his fate, he didn't know that life could be more interesting until Maya, so now he's going to talk to Tahani and end things with her, and be with the one who made him fall in love for once in his life, who dazzled him, who made him think about her 24/7, who made him smile in his sleep, the girl who changed his life. Maya.

My Diary (9)

The more Maya didn't answer his calls, the more he wanted her..... the more she didn't let him in, the more he tried, and so the more he became distant with Tahani.
Maya didn't know what was going on with Tahani and 5aled lately, the last time she heard about Tahani was last week at Nino's..
She wondered why Tahani never called again to tell her what was going on, but she didn't have the courage to call her herself, so Maya kept things this way.
She did her own things, occupying herself, trying to focus on other things so that she could take her mind off 5aled.
She told Lulwa about it..Lulwa knew her friend too well, she knew that if 5aled kept on doing what he does, eventually he will get what he wants, she knew Maya was too fragile to be strong and stick to a hard decision like that...'i have to do something' Lulwa thought as Maya went on about how hard it is for her to ignore his calls and never answer his messages..
Little did they know.....
5aled loved a girl he couldn't get, but that doesn't mean he just wants to screw around with her, he already fell in love with her, and Maya pulling herself away from him like that, only made him fall deeer.

Tahani, on the other hand, was miserable, she didn't know what to do. She doesn't even have a clue about 5aled's personaily changing so much with her, she saw him act the same with his family, old friends, everyone but her.
'WHY' she would think, as she cries herself to sleep...'what did i do to deserve this? did i drive him away?' she couldn't help but wonder if it was her fault for him to act this way.
'He doesn't love me' she would repeat over and over to herself...she was so hurt, she couldn't even talk to the one girl she trusted the most, the one girl who she confessed to, the one girl she considered as a true friend, Maya.

Maya was in the bathroom, while her phone beeped...

Lulwa quickly saved his number in her phonebook, and dropped the phone to where it was..
Maya got out of the bathroom, she saw Lulwa's face, she knew something was up..
"shfeech?" Maya asked, wondering what could've happened
"6arash laj message" Lulwa pointed at Maya's phone
Maya literally ran to check her phone..
"Lulu ma3arf shasawy...bamoot 7addy abeeeh.. tara i know this sounds too soon bass a7iba" Maya said sadly, confused not knowing what to do
"Maya, ya 7abeebty, sm3eeny... low ohwa ma kaan 5a6ib, chan he's urs akeed..bass ohwa 5a6ib Maya" Lulwa said in a sweet voice, "5a6ib our friend..."
"a3arf, a3arf..." Maya mumbled sadly, "this is what's backing me off from him, otherwise we would be.." Maya stopped at the thought of them being together, how nice would it be to have someone you love, who loved you back, without being told.
"i know.. bass inshalla alla be3aw'9ech oo u'll forget him, and find a new love, that u CAN have" Lulwa smiled making Maya laugh lightly..
Maya was thankful she had Lulwa, she would be lost without her..

Meanwhile....
After Lulwa got home from Maya's house, she took out her mobile phone from her bag, and dialled his number.
"Aloo" 5aled said tiredly
"aloo, 5aled?" Lulwa said in a serious tone
"na3am...min m3ay?" 5aled asked
"ana Lulwa, rfeejat Maya"
5aled froze
"plz 5aled, u have to stop what u're doing.. u're breaking two people's heart at the same time, ur fiance's and my friend's.. plz don't do anything foolish that u'll regret later.."
"i..i.." 5aled started but was cut off with Lulwa's speech
"Maya's a fragile girl, she's not strong, she's weak, she can't fight that long, i know her! more than anyone!... u have to think wisely about this, from every angle, it's not a game u know... the matter is serious... ther are people involved in this, there are hearts that are going to break.. don't be selfish and think about ur feelings and needs, think about others... think about Tahani!" Lulwa's voice was getting higher as she tried her best to controll her anger.
"Lulwa inty 3baalich ana al3ab? 3baalij ana yaahil? mat3arfeen shkithir ana mfakir bil maw'9oo3?! min youm chift-ha wana metwale3 feeha..i fell out of something and into something new when i first laid my eyes on her..." 5aled said desperately
"do u think Maya's going to make u leave Tahani, just for her? NO!" Lulwa's temper was getting higher
"who said i'm going to leave Tahani for her, i already decided i'm ending things with Tahani! i should've done that a long time ago!"

'what the hell...' Maya thought to herself, acting all nice and calm in front of Tahani. She didn't want Tahani to find out about the message, after all he was her fiance!
Maya wanted to reply to that message so bad, but of course she didn't dare to in front of Tahani, incase she asked who it was..
They said their goodbyes, Tahani left to her car with a smile on her face, happy again, that she's going to work things out with 5aled, and grateful for her friend, who helped her with one of the hardest moments of her life.
Maya headed back home, thinking about Tahani, and how she opened up to her, how she trusted her, and it killed her to think that she was falling for 5aled, whether she wanted to or not.

Maya reached home, headed up to her room to take a nap. She needed some time to think of what she's going to do next.

Maya took a deep breath... she didn't know what to do anymore.. she wanted this to be a bad dream, but it wasn't.

She didn't want to ask Lulwa for help this time, she wanted to make her own decision, whether it was a good one, or a bad one..

She sat there, thinking for a long time what to write to 5aled..she had to.. she wanted to..she couldn't resist..she had to find out what he wanted..'he's the one who texted me' Maya comforted herself...
Her heart was beating faster, her fingers were trembling, but still she had to do it..

She just saved his number, when she heard her phone ringing...........it was him.
Her heart skipped a beat, as she managed to pick up...

"Ahlain" he replied in a deep voice, Maya could tell he was desperate...and it made her excited.
"um..laish tabeeny?" as she said it, she noticed that came out all wrong, she got so embarrassed, "um..qa9dy shtaby etgool?"
"la wela shay...bass, um ma3arf shloun abtidy il9araa7a.. ana a5atht raqmich min telefone Tahani, bedoon ma tadri sajalta, '9ameery y2anebny bass magdar ayawid roo7y akthar min chithee Maya" he said it all in one breath..Maya knew he was nervous, and that made her less nervous...
"5aled plz stop, may9eer inta 5a6eb..magdar abtidy ay shay m3aak, 7ata low abee, magdar" Maya was really shy talking to him
"ya3ny tabeen?" 5aled's said, in a tone that made her blush
he could feel her blushing, and he remembered the way she blushed when he was looking at her that night in the restaurant..
"....." Maya didn't answer, she couldn't, she was too shy to say a word, too shy to even smile..
"is it becuz of Tahani?" asked 5aled
"ee akeed it is" Maya answered
"what if i end things with her?" 5aled wondered
"u'll end things with her to just have a go with me? what if things don't work out between us? what would u do then?" Maya was startled
"the night i saw u, at Tahani's graduation party, 7ssait k2ny mitt oo 7yait..3rft ma3naat il 7ob min awal na'9ra, 3eraft shma3naat il7ob.."5aled began
Maya couldn't believe what she was hearing...she thought she imagined him staring at her.
"if all it takes is to break up with the wrong person in my life, then i'd do that in a blink of an eye!" 5aled said, meaning what he said
Maya could feel her heart freeze..
"5aled, i have to go" Maya whispered, and hung up

She didn't know what else to do.. she didn't know how to react, first he was confessing his love to her, second he was engaged!!

She couldn't start anything with him, she knew what their ending would be, there was no future for them and she knew it...she couldn't do that to anyone..the only thing she could do was end this before it began.....before someone would get hurt.....

Maya woke up that day with a smile on her face, for some reason, she thought today would be a good day. She stayed a while in bed, rolling over, thinking, too lazy to get out of bed....but eventually she did. She got up, hopped into the shower, changed into fresh clothes, went downstairs to eat breakfast with her mother and father, since it was Saturday.

Tahani wore her blue sleevless top, with a white long sleeve cardigan on top to cover up her arms, and light blue skinny jeans, with matching blue balerina shoes, and her Hermes bag (that got all the attention), she didn't bother with make up that day, but still managed to look lovely with her long brown hair falling onto her back. She always looked lovely, even when something was bothering her, you couldn't tell. This was Tahani, and perhaps 5aled found that frustrating or annoying, because she never showed her emotions.
She wore her brown Gucci sunglasses, and left to the car, heading to Nino's...

Maya wore a purple tshirt, grey skinny jeans, brown sandals that showed her painted toes, wore eyeliner, put on cherry lipbalm, wore her sunglasses, took her handbag and went downstairs to look for her car keys and left the house.

Tahani reached Nino's, ordered a diet coke, and waited for Maya.
2 minutes later, Maya showed up, saw Tahani sitting on the table, and walked up to her with a worried smile on her face.
They kisses each other on both cheeks, and sat down.
"Thanks for making it on such short notice" Tahani said
"my pleasure" Maya said, nervously
They ordered their food, Tahani ordered white sauce pasta, and Maya ordered steak and mushrooms.
"so..." Maya began nervously
"so..i called u Maya because i have something to talk to u about" Tahani explained
Maya felt nautious..
"go ahead, i'm listening" Maya said in a soft voice
"it's about 5aled" Tahani said
Maya felt disgusted, she wanted to throw up, she felt her heart pounding so hard, she thought it would fall out of her chest, she just wanted to run and leave, she felt the world move in slow motion, but there was nothing she could do so, she just sat there waiting for the worst to come..

"i've noticed 5aled being different lately, acting all wierd and distant, he's not the 5aled i got engaged to a year ago"
"um..um..why is that?"
"i don't know" Tahani said with a sigh

"how has he changed?" Maya askeds, trying to be helpful
"listen, from the day we got engaged and started talking to each other, i felt something was missing, but i told myself thing's will get better, and he's just like that because we're newly engaged...and time went by and still..no improvement, if so, everything's just worse...ohwa maskeen masawa shay bass i can feel ina he doesn't love me, and a girl knows when she's loved by someone or not" Tahani said sadly
"i never thought that of you two, u guys look perfect together" Maya couldn't help her hopes getting up
"ya everyone says that, but no one looks outside the picture, no one reads between the lines, i'm so confused Maya, i don't know what to do, u're the only one that can help, from the night of the party when u asked me if everything was ok i knew u would be the person i would come talking to, pouring out my heart to, cuz u seem like the person who cares about others.."Tahani smiled
"thank u Tahani, that's so sweet" Maya never felt more in the middle of a situation than now, she wanted to cry, she couldn't bare the guilt she felt inside her..
Tahani was her friend, and 5aled was the guy she was falling for, and they're bother engaged..
'What should a girl do in this case?' Maya thought, feeling her heart being torn apart.
"um, have u tried talking to him about it?" Maya suggested, feeling no hope at all,
She was going to help her friend in need, whatever it cost her...
"no...should i?" asked Tahani
"ya i think u should open up the subject with him, see what he feels about the whole thing, try to see it from his point of view this time" it almost killed her to say this, but she had to..
"u know what...i think i will, i'll tell him what i feel, and see what he thinks" Tahani smiled at her friend, whom now became her BEST friend.."i think we can work this out"
"of course u would, that's not even a problem from the start, just differences between you two, everyone goes through stuff, never mind, don't worry" Maya smiled sadly, thinking she would never get what she wanted, what she waited for her whole life..
"thank u Maya, u're such a sweet friend, i don't know what i would've done without u" Tahani held Maya's hand accross the table
"ur welcome Tahani, i'm always here for u" Maya forced a smile..

They finished their meals and ordered dessert
Tahani felt much better

That week was hectic for Maya, she had so many things to do. She had her cousin's engagement party to go to, her mother's (mini) birthday party that took place at her grandmother's house, lunch with her family on Friday, went to the movies with Lulwa and some girls....lots of things were done that week. In a good way, it occupied Maya from thinking about him...

On the other hand..

5aled could not take his mind off Maya, she was all he thought about, whenever, wherever, with whoever, he always thought about him, and that made him change with Tahani..
He started not answering all of her calls, he stopped telling her how pretty she looked. Everything he used to do before, became less now, and the worst thing is, Tahani could feel it.
Tahani felt him being distant lately, she knew something wasn't right but she couldn't put her finger on it..

From the beginning of their engagement (Tahani and 5aled), she knew something was missing, but because it was her first time in a relationship she didn't know the difference...
'This is how men are like' she told herself, 'it's just his personality' she would tell herself wheneve she didn't like what he did.
5aled and Tahani matched each other perfectly, but not from the inside.
Their personalities were totally different, it was like oil and water, they can't mix no matter how hard you try.
Tahani tried to put up with it, but since he's starting to change so obviously, she couldn't any longer...
she sat there, in her room in the dark just thinking about what went wrong with 5aled, and why is he the way he is right now...
She couldn't come up with any reason, plus 5aled didn't do anything wrong, his personality doesn't blend with hers, that's it.
'i'm not leaving him, it's just a matter of time, people go through things, he might be going through a hard time right now, and i need to back off to let him have his space...maybe that's the best idea, after all....he DID come propose to me, not the other way around.' she thought to herself sadly..so she decided to give him the 'space' he needed...

Before bed, 5aled sat and thought a long time about his life, his future, his dry relationship with Tahani, his uncontrollable feelings for Maya...
He had to come up with a conclusion, he had to do something about it because he didn't like it at all; and it wasn't fair for Tahani..
'better now that never' he thought..

After thinking and thinking alone to himself, he came up with an answer, he had to find an answer, he needed the answer to know what to do, to move on as a young man in hislife, to look for a new start...

Maya went straight upstairs to her room, after dropping Lulwa home, changed into her over sized tshirt, washed her face, brushed her teeth, and went to bed.
She stayed opening her eyes, turning and twisting, from one position to another, unable to sleep...'uff im tired i have to sleep..laish magdar argid' she thought to herself, feeling frustrated..
'100-99-98-97-96-95...' she counted backwards, a thing Maya always did whenever she couldn't sleep..
1 hour later
After being awake for the past hour, just thinking about 5aled and his smile, the way he looked at her, how deep his voice was, was it obvious he was into her, does that mean he'll break up with Tahni.....
lots of things went through her mind, so she decided to stop thinking and go to sleep..
'i'll watch gossip girl' she thought, it's better that staying awake, thinking endlessly about something that had no future..

Maya was fast asleep..


Maya woke up the next day and decided to head to Lilo's for breakfast to change the mood she was in....

"Goodmorning" said Lulwa
"hey there lulu.. had a goodnight's sleep?" Maya asked
"yup..did u?" wondered Lulwa, after what she whitnessed last night

"ok wela shrayech we go to Caramel, they have good breakfast there?"
"uum inzain ilyoum lilo's bacher caramel..how does that sound?" Maya asked hopefully

Maya changed into her new pair of jeans, and a light pink plain 3/4 sleeve shirt, wore her white gladiator sandals, put on eyeliner and lipgloss, wore her golden Rayban sunglasses, took her handbag, car keys and left to the car..

Maya reached Lilo's, sat on a table for 2, ordered fresh lemon juice with mint, and waited for Lulwa.

Lulwa settled on with her white skinny jeans, silver chefon top, light grey high heel sandals, pink lip gloss (her fave), black sunglasses, tiny diamond studs earings, and her blue Balenciaga hand bag.

Lulwa reached 10 minutes after Maya..
"hii" smiled Lulwa
"hii" Maya stood up to kiss Lulwa on both cheecks
The waiter came over to Lulwa, asked her what would she like to drink, she thought for a minute then ordered carrot juice..
"Lulwa basi2lich so2al, jawbeeny 7ata low i won't like the answer.." Maya said
"ok shinow?" Lulwa wondered 'alla yaster, akeed 3an 5aled' she thought to herself
"did u see 5aled looking at me ams?" Maya asked, her heart rate beeting faster
"um yaa..a few times, laish?" Lulwa wondered, "where is this going Maya?" Lulwa hated if her friend even considered 5aled as an option, as far as she was concerned, he was TAKEN, and Maya had to accept that., whether she liked it or not!
"ok i'll tell u..remember when i left to go to the bathroom?" Maya started
"yaa" Lulwa was all ears
"6ila3t min il 7amaam ila i saw 5aled just standing there, looking straight at me, walla at first i thought he wanted the bathroom, confused or something, but he just stood there, looking at me in a way i swear no one ever looked at me like that before" Maya said
"Maya sheeleeh min mu5ij yumkin he was finding the sign mal the men's bathroom or something" Lulwa said, thinking she can't let her friend fall for a man who was TAKEN for crying out loud! what part of being taken did not Maya understand.. Lulwa was starting to get worried..
she didn't want her friend to be the bad guy in the story here...
"he SMILED at me lulu! walla he looked at me and smiled! even i'm confused!" confessed Maya
"ee akeed he'll smile at u maya! shino.. ur his fiance's friend! akeed hell smile at u, he won't ignore u ya3ny.....duuuh maya!" Lulwa snapped
"EXACTLY" Maya said loudly.."he's her FIANCE, why would he smile at me and look at me the way he did! Lulu fakray!" Maya almost yelled, and took a deep breath
"Maya, i know u started falling for him, bass stop, NOW stop, this is going no where, i don't want to see u hurt.....ever....don't do this to ur self, u don't deserve i.." Lulwa began feeling sad for her friend
Maya felt numb, if only he wasn't engaged, this could be a start of something new, something she dreamed of, something she saw only in movies, something she just read in books..
And like that, 5aled and Tahani's subject was closed for the rest of the time..
they asked for the check, after eating their food, and left..

until, there he was, getting out of his red Ferrari, wearing blue jeans, and a black shirt folded til his elbows, wearing mirror sunglasses that made him look even hotter, and a silver Cartier watch..
'am i dreaming' Maya thought
"Maya! out of here now!" Lulwa chuckled, grabbing Maya from her arm, acting like a cop..
but Maya couldn't move, she just stood there, staring at him as he stared back... it was as if they were two magnets being pulled close to each other without doing anything, without their will, without any force coming from them..it's like they were being dragged to each other by something stronger than them, stronger than all mankind, stronger than nature...
5aled smiled at Maya, with a look that she only knew the meaning to it.. because she only felt it.. she only felt what he was feeling, she only knew what it was like to fall in love at the first sight..
Lulwa pulled Maya, and begged her to go to her car, at last, she went..
she sat in her car, as Lulwa sat on the front seat..Maya kept staring at him, his eyes were still fixed on her. Maya wanted to tell Lulwa to look at the way he looked at her, but for some reason her voice was gone..
Maya felt her insides melt...and not for long, as she felt her heart beat faster and faster, and this time, not because of what she felt towards him, but because of the disapointment that she felt..
Maya and Lulwa saw her entering Lilo with him, there she was, on his right, wearing a white dress up to her knees, with her long brown hair tied up on a high pony tail and her tan Hermes bag, holding his hands as if they were the best couple in town....

But Maya still couldn't deny that she suspected something wasn't right between 5aled and Tahani..

She froze, she didn't know what else to do..'he's Tahani's fiance, why is he acting all wierd? aren't they supposed to be in love? isn't he faithful to her? is he a player? is he really looking at me like that or is he serious? why isn't he moving.. i need to pass! i'm gonna melt, i'm LITERALLY going to melt' she thought...
she had a million questions go around in her mind like shooting stars, which she had no answers to.
"um plz 5aled, let me pass" she told him in a strong voice, she didn't want to be the reason to destroy Tahani's engagement, whether or not they loved each other..she's not the kind of girl who broke people up, and broke marriages, she actually hated these things happening to anyone.. she always thought that there are better ways to be happy, even if it means sacrificing for the one u love, any kind of sadness is better than a kind of happiness that is based on someone else's misery..
He smiled at her, a smile that had meaning, a smile that made her weak, a smile that meant he wanted her. She couldn't bring herself to think of the reasons that lead him to this, even though it made her happy, still...she tried to block it out.
Maya blushed, and he noticed her blushing, he moved to the side, knowing that he made her blush, and watched her go back to her friends...

he couldn't stop smiling..
When u see them (5aled and Tahani), you'd think that they're a match made in heaven!..no one suspects anything, she seems happy, he seems satisfied..but deep down they both know they don't have that much chemistry between them..
whenever 5aled tries to flirt with Tahani, and tells her how beautiful she looked, she would just look down and turn her head away, making him stop instead of encouraging him to say more...
She didn't find him sexy, she just accepted him as he was because of his family name and money.
And it seems that the same goes to 5aled.
5aled wanted to get married, and when he saw her getting out of the car, he thought he fell in love, but the night of Tahani's graduation party, he knew what it really felt like to fall in love..

After heading back home from their hectic day, Maya dropped Lulwa home, and went back to her house. She drove back home quietly in the car with no radio on, nothing, just thinking about HIM, (5aled)...she wondered how his relationship was with Tahani, if he truly loves her, when are they getting married...
she was lost with her thoughts, until she reached back home.

Maya was watching Dr.Phil when her phone rang..

Maya was excited about their '6al3a' she was looking forward to it since the day Tahani called..
'am i so happy because i'm going out with Tahani' she thought to herself as she was picking out her outfit, 'or because HE's going to be there' she wondered...
Maya looked through each closet 5 times.. she sat there like a girl on her first date, not knowing what to wear..she picked out everything from her closet, tried out half of them, and FINALLY decided to wear her blue dress, that reached her knees, and was extra fit on her, and made her look like a model..she put some make up on, eyeliner, mascara, blush, and lipgloss, wore diamond studs earings, a tennis diamond bracelet, and her silver Gina heels...

They drove off to monsoon in a good mood.. the didn't talk about 5aled.. although he didn't leave Maya's mind for one second...they put on their favorite arabic song

Tahani was wearing a purple silk dress, with a black belt, and black satin high heels, and her engagement ring..
as they were about to sit down...'----' Maya's mind went totally blank, she couldn't think, talk, or move..she was mesmorized... her heart skipped a beat.. he did that to her everytime she laid eyes on him, it was like a jolt inside her body, like her heart just had an electric shock..

his voice was so sharp and sexy that it made Maya have butterflies in her stomach

5aled shaked hands first with maya, then with lulwa and sat down on his chair next facing Tahani, next to A7mad...

As they ordered their food, Maya thought she could sense a sort of tension between Tahani and 5aled..
A7med was so sweet, talking to Lulwa about his work as a banker, and how they grew up taking care of Tahani, as she was their only sister

Tahani had a funny look on her face, a look where u dont know if she's feeling sick or unhappy..
although she seemed happy to everyone, but once u got to know her, you could see through her easily..

They continued their meals, talking, making conversations, each telling a story about their childhood...Maya tried acting normal, but she couldn't, not when HE was in fron of her, not when he made her feel all these feelings that she thought were not in her place to feel 'Tahani is the only girl who should feel like this' she reminded herself... 'oh god i need to freshen up'
Maya excused herself from the table, and went to the bathroom..
she looked at herself in the mirror, 'i look pretty' she thought.. 'bass shilfayda'...she put on some more lipgloss and left the bathroom, and to her horror, there he was, standing in front of the girl's bathroom...she literally felt her heart flip...she bent her head down (she knew that she was blushing but she couldn't help it), tried to walk away but he blocked her way..
"Maya 9a7?" he said
"ee" Maya said in a low voice, still looking at the floor
"u're a quiet person? wela inty saakta ilyoum l2na feeh shay?" he asked her in a way that he knew exactly what was wrong with her..

Maya looked up at him, he was much taller than her, she could smell his manly perfume and that made her wanna scream, she loved men's perfumes
"ee" she said, barely in a whisper, that made him look at her even more deeper, as she forced herself not to smile, and gestured for him to let her pass..

Maya woke up the next day, after 12 hours of sleeping, with a fresh smile.. she didn't know exactly what made her happy she just felt different...good different..and then suddenly she felt a knot in her stomach..'who was the guy from last night? plz let him not be Tahani's fiance plz god' she thought to herself silently brushing her teeth...
Maya went downstairs, had breakfast with her mother, went back up to her room and called Lulwa.
"hii maya" said Lulwa with a sleepy voice
"hey inty a7ad yargid lay il'9uher.. goomay goomay lets make use of our day!" Maya encouraged Lulwa
"whats the plan?"asked Lulwa wishing she could close her eyes for just 10 more minutes
"goomy i'll pick u up in half an hour, lets go seef mall, i need to buy some things, and then we could sit in the crepe cafe.. you up for it?" suggested Maya
"uummm yaa ok i kinda need some stuff myself.." said Lulwa
"great then.. cya!"

"ok byee"

Maya decided to wear her dark blue skinny jeans, with a crispy white Ralph Lauren shirt, and golden sandals to show off her painted toes, and a black chanel bag that she hung on the side of her back, and golden earings to match the sandals, she filled her hand with bracelets, put on some lipgloss and eyeliner, took her phone and stepped out of the house..
She started the car, turned the radio on, wore her sunglasses that she kept in her car, and headed off to Lulwa's..

Incoming Call: Maya
"Lulu ana bara3"
"im coming"
"ok yalla byee"
"byee"

Lulwa stepped out of the house, wearing a pair of jeans and a purple top that had a ribbon on the back, and purple ballerina shoes that matched her outfit, carrying her white Gucci bag she bought in the summer..she looked even prettier with her sunglasses on.
"hiiiii" Lulwa said excitedly
"hiiiii" Maya gave Lulwa a kiss on both cheecks, "lets go!"
they drove off together, with the radio on, laughing and chatting about everything until the reached the carpark of seef mall.
"hey lulu isn't that the Ferrari we saw yesterday?" Maya wondered
"shda3wa Maya ya3ny bass thaak 3nda Ferrari"
"madry..yalla lets get in" Maya said thinking 'could it be him? the one who made my heart skip a beat?'
they went straight to sephora, Lulwa needed a bronzer, and Maya wanted to check out their new make up.. after sephora they shopped and shopped and shopped, although they didn't buy much, mostly just trying on stuff, making fun of each other, laughing, chatting, just like any two best friends...
"yalla maya te3abt lets go crepe cafe, 5a6ry fil crepe ily 3la nutella..yuuum" said Lulwa, her stomach making funny noises
"ee yalla ana b3ad 7addy 5a6ree feeh!" maya laughed
They went up to the crepe cafe, made their order, and sat on the table. They both ordered crepe with nutella and a scoop of vanilla ice cream, and milk tea to drink.
They sat their eating their crepe, sipping their tea, talking and laughing together, both happy to be there..
Maya's heart skipped a beat..
'shit' she thought
Lulwa turned to see what Maya was looking at.."omg its him!" Lulwa whispered in a low voice
"......ya...." Maya said, dazed off by what she's looking at..
she was looking at the most beautiful creature in the world, she was looking at the one who made her melt, the one who made her heart stop beating, the one who made her think about him, the one she didn't know if she could ever have...
He saw her, noticed her from the party, smiled at her, nodded and went to place his order..
"omg he's gonna stay here!" Maya chuckled
"ya i can see that" Lulwa answered with a smile on her face
"ohoo.. shasawy"Maya complained
"shfeech inty al7een .. chill maya u just saw him once, now twice.. get over it"
"lulu u dont understand... i actually FEEL something.. something i never felt before..."
"are u fallin in love? plz god no! u dont even know who the guy is! wetha ohwa 5a6eeb Tahani?? bass Maya snap out of it!" Lulwa advised
"ee 9ij.. i wont do that to her, she's my friend.."maya said, thinking Lulwa's right, she would never do that to her friend whom she liked and cared about..she wouldn't do that to anyone let alone someone she knew...she's not the kind to find her happiness from other's lives and happiness...
10 minutes later
"look" Maya said pointing somewhere, "it's Tahani!" Maya smiled a broken smile..'so its her finace after all' Maya thought sadly
"yaa its her, with a guy!" Lulwa said confused
"so that can't be her fiance!!" Maya said over excited
"maybe she's with her brother maya shfeech hahaha" Lulwa laughed at her friend
"oh ya .. right" Maya said sadly again
Tahani saw them sitting on a table, waved at them, and went over to them to greet them..
"hiiiii banaat shloonkom??" Tahani greeted them smiling..'she always seemed so happy' the girls thought..'and gorgeous'
Tahani was wearing white skinny jeans, emerald green short sleeve blouse that made her skin color stand out, a pair of silver high heel sandals, and a white belt in the middle, showing off her amazing figure, carrying her tanned Hermes 35 cm bag, with her straight hunny brown hair and perfect eyes. She simply looked amazing.

Maya was too busy wondering who was who..
"tamam alla ysalmich.. Maya, Lulwa, hathee u5ooy" Maya smiled thinking 'he's not her fia--' but to her dissapointment Tahani pointed on the guy she was with.."a7med", Ahmed smiled and waved, "and that's 5a6eeby, 5alid" Tahani pointed at the guy sitting on the table, with a smile...

He held her in his arms, kissed her like it's the last kiss, whispered "i love u" into her ears and looked at her in the eyes with a big smile that could last forever.

'Wow!' Maya thought...as she finished the story she was reading..'i wish i could have something like that..but these only happen in fairy tales and books' she reminded herself...
She turned off the small lamp next to her on the bedside table and closed her eyes thinking about what to wear to the party she was going to the following day..as she drifted off to sleep..

BEEPBEEPBEEPBEEP.....broke the alarm
"hmmmm" Maya made a sleepy sound..she hated to get up early mornings..she loved to sleep and often slept as much as the day would let her whenever she could..
BEEPBEEPBEEP....kept going the alarm...
"ok ok damn it" she mumbled as she closed the alarm, jumped out of bed and went straight into the shower..

"Aloooo" Lulwa answered the phone as she was just about to eneter starbux
"hiii lulu wainaj?" asked Maya
"tawny dasha starbux laish?"

Maya and Lulwa are best friends, more like sisters, they grew up together and always loved hanging out with the same group of friends, they stuck by each other's sides and had each other's backs..in a way they completed each other..

They had the rest of the day to go get ready, do their hair, nails and stuff for the party. It's the party of the year.. everyone who was someone is invited to it and everyone's going..
It was Tahani's graduation party, they were graduating from university so it's going to be BIG..she was the girl that had everything.. she had it all.. the looks, the style, the fiance, the money.. everything you could possibly imagine..she's the only daughter out of 3 boys.

After coming back home from her exhausting day in the salon.. Maya spent the rest of the time looking for something dressy to wear to the party. She agreed on a plain black strapless BCBG dress, that was til above her knees, showing off her long tanned legs, with a silver Gina high heel sandals, filled with crystals, and a Jaeger shiny clutch that matched her outfit perfectly. She decided to put half her hair up with a shiny clip, leaving out small bangs. Maya loved to dress up no matter where she was going, and loved wearing make up (not too much though, she loved the natural look).. just as she was about to put her lipgloss Lulwa called..
"Mayaaaaa i'm outside" Lulwa said, she hated waiting, she's never patient
"coming" Maya said.. "byeeeee mama!! byeee baba!!" she yelled heading to the door.
" wow gurl!! u look gorgeous! lemme see!....bitch i hate u!" complained Lulwa, she was never the type who dressed up, she only did that occassionaly and doesn't do a good job on that, but her pretty face always got the attention, she didn't need dressing up.
"hahahaha look at u too pretty face!.. u look stunning" maya complimented her..
"yaa yaa.. if i was a guy i swear u'd sweep me off my feet!" Lulwa said as she started the radio putting their favorite song 'it's like i waited my whole life..for this one night.. it's gona be me u and the dancefloor.. cuz we only got one night.. double ur pleasure.. double ur fun.. and dance forever ever ever..forever ever ever ..forever on the dancefloor..'
they sang along on the way.. until they reached the party..


"Tahani!!" they both called after her
"Heeeeeey u guuuys u made it! i'm so glad" Tahani greeted them with kisses and a warm smile
"nice party" said Lulwa
"ya it is" said Maya
"hehe thanks guys..i swear i'm so glad u're here..catch up with u later..dance..do whatever.. have fun! the party's urs!" Tahani said with a wink and went off to greet other people.
'It's an all girls party, outside by the pool, and to their luck, the weather was amazing..
"did u see Tahani how beautiful she is...mashalla i wish i was her sometimes.. she seems so happy.. a7sidha sometimes u know.." said Lulwa
"u shouldn't lulu tara no one's happy all the time.. lazim shway ups and downs" said Maya
"yaa well" smiled Lulwa

'i wanna take u awaaay lets escape into the music dj let it plaay.. i just can't refuse it.. like the way u do this.. keep on rockin to it..plz dnt stop the plz dnt stop the plz don't stop the music!!' "luluuuuuuu lets dance!!" Maya screamed through the music
"come on!!" Lulwa said pulling Maya's hands
Tahani joined them, dancing, moving around with their hands up in the dark, the dj lights rolling in different places, and smoke popping out of no where... they each showed off their moves and danced laughing happily to the rythm..

2 hours later

they sat on the tables by the pool, each carrying their plate full of food.
Maya noticed Tahani sitting alone on one of the tables staring into space..
"i'll be right back" Maya told Lulwa putting her plate on the table and walking over to Tahani
"hey Tahani..everything ok?" Maya asked concerned about her
"ya thanks, sometimes in life we have to sacrifice right?" she answered with a sad smile
"what do-" Maya started asking but was cut off with Tahani's phone ringing
Tahani gestured by her hands for her to hold on a minute, but Lulwa ordered Maya to eat since her food was getting cold...

'its probably nothing' Maya told herself, she couldn't deny that Tahani looked happy and that maybe she was having a bad day that's all..
After eating dancing again, laughing, talking, it was time for them to head back home...Maya's curfew was to be at home by 12:30 am on special ocassions..
"yalla lulu lets go" Maya said
"ya lets go i'm tired" Lulwa said...
they both went to Tahani, said their goodbyes
"thanks guys for coming, and thanks Maya for asking me if i was ok back there" Tahani smiled
"no biggie i just noticed something was up.. u can call me anytime if u need someone to talk to" Maya said back..
"sure i will" Tahani smiled at her friend who was concerned about her and thought better than to tell her the real reason of what's going on in her life... some things are better kept unsaid she told herself..
"ok so bye see u soon" they waved

As they left the gate, going to the car, a guy wearing white thob and red '3etra driving a red Ferrari car came in, parked the car and got down..
"I wonder who that is" Maya told Lulwa
"probably some rich guy or someone" Lulwa replied
just about when Maya was opening the car door to get into the car, he turned around....
'o...m...g' Maya thought..'i think im gonna faint' she stood there frozen unable to move just mesmorized by him, he was tall, thin, had broad shoulders, dark eyes and the most dazzling smile Maya ever saw..
he looked at her, a look that would've melted ice with a half smile that drove her crazy and gave her a nod and walked past her...as she stood there paralyzed..
"MAYA! yalla we gotta go!" Lulwa yelled into her ears
"ok" she whispered.. 'where did my voice go' she thought
she turned aroun to take one more look, and at the same time he turned to look at her one more time before he went in...his eyes didn't move an inch away from her, and her heart skipped a beat..it was as if they connected by their eyes..a feeling Maya never felt before..
"ok what was that all about?" Lulwa asked curious for an answer, as she started the car..
"ma3arf lulu ma3arf.. who's he?" asked Maya desperate to know who he was..
"since it's an all girls party it might be Tahani's brother going back to the house.." lulwa concluded..
"i guess.." said Maya
"or maybe he's her fiance?" added Lulwa
"maybe" Maya said, hoping that he's not

"Thnxx lulu for dropping me... luv u byee gnite!" Maya kissed Lulwa on the cheek and went inside the house...

Maya undressed, washed her face, brushed her teeth, and went to bed thinking about HIM and his beautiful eyes and dazzling smile.. she felt her heart skip another beat just thinking about him and remembering the look her gave her that made her melt from inside...
'is it love?' she thought to herself..and closed her eyes to sleep...'he might be Tahani's brother' she told herself.....

suddenly a thought crossed her mind.... 'what if he's Tahanis' fiance?'
